Chamith Wijesundera is a young and dedicated individual who is contesting for the local government election in Sri Lanka for the Kotte Municipal Council. A proud alumnus of Royal College, he captained the school rugby team and went on to pursue higher education in International Relations and Politics and has a Master of Business Administration from Buckinghamshire University.

Beyond his academic achievements, Chamith is also a philanthropist, running a charity organization of his own, ‘Divi Sathkara,’ which has donated eyeglasses, and wheelchairs, organized health camps and given away dry rations to uplift the wellbeing of Sri Lankans, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.

He has always been empathetic towards people’s hardships as he has lived to experience the troubles he and his family had to go through when he was younger. He is also a special representative to the opposition leader of Sri Lanka and the national organizer of ‘Samagi Tharuna Balawegaya.’

Chamith has made a significant impact in his community, spearheading the Community Kitchen program of ‘Samagi Tharuna Balawegaya’ which provides meals for underprivileged communities. He is now contesting for the Kotte Municipal council from the Pitakotte East electorate intending to serve and improve the lives of his fellow Sri Lankans.
